Today, we are recognizing and honoring past and present service men and women who served and sacrificed for our country. Their courage and dedication makes us proud and free.
As a special tribute to those who served, we are sharing Tyrone “Ty” Hull’s story. Ty now serves our Respiratory Home Medical Equipment patients as our Delivery Technician. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1986 to 1992.
Ty joined the Army as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and, in 1989, transferred to the 82nd Airborne Division as a Canon Fire Direction Specialist (a position equivalent to a Corporal).
During this time, Ty traveled to Iraq and Saudi Arabia to participate in Operation Desert Storm during The Gulf War. He received the Southwest Asia Service ribbon and Liberation of Kuwait medal for his service.
“My experience in the military has taught me the value of teamwork – and not to take anything for granted,” Ty recalls. He continues, “It also made me realize how fortunate I am to live in a country where you can express yourself freely.”
Ty also is a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Ty completed 27 jumps from military aircraft during his tenure in the military.
“After your second jump, you get used to it. It’s the best rush in the world,” Ty says proudly. Watch this video of the 82nd Airborne Division to witness a first-hand account of Ty’s experience.
Thank you to Ty for his service, and for allowing us to share his story today.
