Respiratory Transition Specialist

John started with Independence Plus, Inc. (IPI) in 2007 to develop IPI’s Home Medical Equipment and Services division; he led IPI’s HME to licensure and CHAP accreditation within six months of coming on-board.  As IPI’s Respiratory Transition Specialist, John assists complex respiratory patients in the process of returning home safely from major medical centers, hospitals, LTACH’s, and skilled nursing facilities. John evaluates ventilator dependent patients, educates and trains families, assists case managers to ensure that the discharge process go smoothly, and teaches portions of IPI’s ventilator classes.

John earned his Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials from Triton College and is an Illinois licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. John has worked in home respiratory care for over 30 years and he is passionate about his work to make sure that adult and pediatric patients are able to safely transition home to live with their loved ones.

John has held numerous positions with national and local home healthcare companies including serving as President of Quality Healthcare Equipment, Inc. He has also presented at many local, state (ISRC), and national (AARC) respiratory conferences. John spends his free time with his family, and enjoys boating, hiking, and playing guitar.
