In honor of National Respiratory Care Week, Independence Plus, Inc. (IPI) would like to take a moment to thank our dedicated and talented team of Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP’s)! The role of an RCP is to restore and improve lung health to patient’s lives. Our RCP’s are our go-to experts when it comes to respiratory care and services at home for our patients with complex medical and respiratory needs. They visit our ventilator-dependent patients a minimum of one time per month, delivering equipment and supplies, performing equipment checks and trach changes, checking vital signs, listening to lung sounds, measuring oxygen levels, and much more.
Kathleen Keating, CRT, RCP, Director of IPI’s HME Services, says our RCP’s face daily challenges beyond providing exemplary respiratory care in patient’s home, including driving in all weather conditions – sometimes more than 200 miles a day – to ensure our patients are safe and comfortable. “Our team of respiratory therapists is made up of highly-skilled clinicians, competent in their care and passionate about what they do. They advocate daily for patient’s care and safety in providing respiratory home care services. They are passionate about what they do, because they love what they do,” Keating said.
We are proud of our RCP’s! Happy Respiratory Care Week from our team to yours!
