Returning home on a ventilator can be a safe and rewarding experience. Since 1987, IPI has been actively solving problems for home ventilator patients.
Home ventilator care is our specialty; our knowledge is our strength. The process from hospital to home will take about one or two weeks. IPI works directly with most insurance carriers, Medicare and Medicaid.
Our reorder system for disposable supplies, our patient and family education and our preventive maintenance facilitates continuity of care and provides for smooth transitions.
STEPS TO HOME VENTILATION
Independence Plus, Inc. (IPI) assists patients in their advancement to Home Ventilation with the following services:
1. Patient is evaluated by an IPI Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
2. Payment source (e.g. insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) is determined.
3. Equipment and supply list is established.
4. Patient home is evaluated: feasibility is determined.
5. Patient's caregivers are educated and trained.
6. Patient experiences the home ventilator at the inpatient facility.
7. Equipment and supplies are set up in patient's home.
8. Patient transitions to home, IPI's Respiratory Care Team is present for transition.
9. Problems are solved and RCP visits patient's home as needed.
