What Is CPAP?

CPAP, BiLevel, or AutoPap therapy applies air pressure to the patient's airway via a mask or nosal interface. This positive pressure sustains the patient's airway (holds it open) so the patient can sleep adequately and awaken refreshed.

Independence Plus believes that a properly fit mask is crucial; it is central pressure. In turn, this encourgages patients to use the equipment because they are able to experience replenishing sleep which enhances their quality of life. Patients are encouraged to experiment with different masks and nasal interfaces.
