Independence Plus' licensed RCP's (Respiratory Care Practitioners) manage all aspects of our home tracheostomy patients. Starting with the initial determination of what equipment is needed at home, our RCP's create a plan for home care that is safe, efficient and provides everything the patient will need. The RCP then instructs all caregivers in the operation of the equipment as prescribed for use with that specific patient.
Once the patient is home, the supply list is given and
we contact the caregiver monthly to restock the necessary supplies. Our RCP delivers the correct supplies, and at the same time, checks for proper usage and operation of the equipment being used. This all adds up to a smooth, safe, home transition for our tracheostomy patients.
